DJ Kennington began racing full time at age 16 and he’s been a fixture at racetracks ever since then. His partnership with Castrol began at the same time and is one of the longest and most successful collaborations in Canadian racing history.
Kennington has built an impressive racing resume winning events from coast to coast, track championships and is a two-time NASCAR Pinty’s Series champion winning the title in 2010 and 2012. He was also voted the Most Popular Driver in 2008.
DJ Kennington grew up in the family business of racing. He learned to build engines and was taught an extraordinary work ethic from his father, Canadian Motorsports Hall of Fame member Doug Kennington, who is still a fixture at DJ’s race shop working on engines and running day-to-day operations. All the while Kennington was honing his on track skills. That talent has also taken him to the United States to compete with some of NASCAR’s best.
In past seasons DJ has run full time in the NASCAR Nationwide series and still competes in several K & N series events each year. This past February he realized a lifelong dream and became just the eighth Canadian to race in the Daytona 500. He’s grown the DJK Racing business significantly into team ownership and providing race ready cars for others. All the while his hunger for victory on the track in the NASCAR Canadian Pinty’s Series continues to grow.
In recent years DJ and his wife Jaimie have welcomed two children, son Chase and daughter Sydney who are also now part of the team at many events.
DJ and the entire #17 Castrol Edge Dodge team want to thank you for your continued support throughout the years.
